Application material

Superalloy is a kind of alloy material with iron, nickel and cobalt as matrix, which can work for a long time under high temperature above 600℃ and certain stress. It has high temperature strength, good oxidation and corrosion resistance, good fatigue performance, fracture toughness and other comprehensive properties. Inconel625 is a single austenitic structure with good structure stability and service reliability at various temperatures. Based on the above characteristics, Inconel625 has a high degree of alloying, which is also known as "super alloy". It is an important material widely used in aviation, aerospace, petroleum, chemical industry and ship. According to the matrix elements, Inconel625 is divided into iron base, nickel base, cobalt base and other Inconel625. Iron based Inconel625 can only be used at 750~780℃. For heat resistant components used at higher temperatures, nickel-based and refractory metal alloys are used. Nickel-based Inconel625 occupies a special and important position in the whole Inconel625 field. At 150MPA-100H, the current maximum temperature that nickel alloys can withstand is > 1100 ° c, while nickel alloys are about 950 ° c and iron-based alloys < 850 ° c, that is, nickel-based alloys are correspondingly 150 ° c to 250 ° c higher. So they call it the heart of the engine. Nickel alloys now account for half the weight of advanced engines, not only on turbine blades and combustors, but also on turbine disks and even on later stages of compressor blades. Compared with ferroalloys, nickel alloys have the following advantages: high working temperature, stable structure, less harmful phase and great anti-oxidation and corrosion ability. Compared with cobalt alloy, nickel alloy can work under high temperature and stress, especially in moving blade.

The advantages mentioned above are related to some excellent properties of nickel alloys. Nickel is a face-centered cube with very stable structure and does not change from room temperature to high temperature. This is very important for the selection of matrix materials. It is well known that austenite tissue has a series of advantages over ferrite tissue.

Nickel has a high chemical stability, almost no oxidation under 500 degrees, and is not affected by warm air, water and some salt aqueous solutions. Nickel dissolves slowly in sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, but quickly in nitric acid.

Nickel has great alloy capacity, and even more than ten alloy elements are added without harmful phase, which provides a potential possibility to improve the properties of nickel.

Although the mechanical properties of pure nickel are not strong, its plasticity is very good, especially at low temperature.
